Call to Worship Janet McEowen
The Lord listens to us in times of trouble and joy.
We call to the Lord in our anxiety and fear.
God will not turn away from us.
God will heal us and restore us.
Let the Lord of life enter into your spirits.
Lord, come to us and heal our brokenness and sorrow, Amen.
Hymn “Ask Ye What Great Thing I Know” UMH 163
1. Ask ye what great thing I know, that delights and stirs me so?
What the high reward I win? Who’s the name I glory in?
Jesus Christ, the crucified.
2. Who defeats my fiercest foes? Who consoles my saddest woes?
Who revives my fainting heart, healing all its hidden smart?
Jesus Christ, the crucified.
3. Who is life in life to me? Who the death of death will be?
Who will place me on his right, with the countless hosts of light?
Jesus Christ, the crucified.
4. This is that great thing I know; this delights and stirs me so:
faith in him who died to save, him who triumphed o'er the grave:
Jesus Christ, the crucified.

Blessing of the Pride Flag Jonathan Grace
Loving God, we seek your blessing on this flag as a symbol of the diversity of your creation.
You looked upon your creation and called us good.
Just as you saved Hagar and Ishmael in the desert we know that you seek salvation for all.
We know that you are a God of the outcast and the marginalized.
You once set a rainbow in the heavens as a sign of your covenant with humanity.
We know that you are faithful to us.
We confess our sins Lord, that we have not loved all as you love all.
Forgive us Lord for our sins.
Your grace has given us new hearts. We desire to love and to welcome all to your sanctuary.
We will raise this flag as a sign of your love and grace.
We covenant with you in faith that transcends differences and seeks the common truth that all people are your beloved children, crafted by your hands.
We will raise this flag and proclaim the dignity, worth and sacredness of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer community.
May all people be welcome in your church. Amen.

Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever. Amen
