Call to Worship                                                                                 Paul VonWupperfeld

Come, rejoice and sing! God’s love is poured over you this day.

We gather to praise God and celebrate God’s presence with us.

God shows compassion to all who are weak and downtrodden.

Jesus Christ offers healing mercies to our troubled souls.

Praise be to God who has called us here.

Thanks be to God for God’s eternal love. Amen.

Hymn                                             “Standing on the Promises”                        UMH 374

1. Standing on the promises of Christ my King, through eternal ages let his praises

ring; glory in the highest, I will shout and sing, standing on the promises of God.

Refrain:
Standing, standing, standing on the promises of Christ my Savior;

standing, standing, I’m standing on the promises of God.

2. Standing on the promises that cannot fail, when the howling

storms of doubt and fear assail, by the living Word of God I shall prevail,

standing on the promises of God.

(Refrain)

3. Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,

bound to him eternally by love's strong cord, overcoming daily with the Spirit's sword,

standing on the promises of God.

(Refrain)

4. Standing on the promises I cannot fall, listening every moment to the Spirit's call,
resting in my Savior as my all in all, standing on the promises of God.
(Refrain)

Prayers of the People                                                                                      Adam White

Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name.

Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses,

As we forgive those that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation,

But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever. Amen
